Basil Rathbone becomes owner of newspaper The Crucible. The editor Harry Stringer is determined to stop him turning The Cricuble into another tabloid.

While chasing after the princess in Switzerland reporter Greg Kettle finds a man, who says he is Nikita Khrushchev, former leader of USSR, who reportedly died 20 years earlier.

Twiggy Rathbone wants to play the card Khrushchev in special TV programme, especially since his revolutionary idea of Wobble-Vision have backfired.

Young reporter Bill Tytla starts to receive messages from secret informator that calls himself "Sore Throat". The informator makes hints that Tytla can reveil the story of his life. Meanwhile Rathbone becomes obsessed with Spitting Image episode where he was mocked.

Bill Tytla gets closer to revealing the mystery behind death of person pretending to be Nikita Khrushchev, while Spam is running shady schemes to promote the newspaper, including giving away babies.

Harry Stringe is determined to leave the madness of The Crucible and start work on university, but at this point Bill Tytla comes up with the missing link in the dead Nikita Khrushchev impersonator case.
